We assess the risks, impacts and provide solutions associated with your overall operations  from an Indigenous perspective. In weighing up the potential cost savings, the increased risk of disruption due to social unrest as well as the potential brand damage should be considered. Targeted community investment can build community capacity that supports the company's license to operate within that community.

Self assessment questions can include:

  • Do you have an Indigenous Peoples Policy to help understand the community’s governance structure, identify a community’s goals and development plan, determine if they will accept or reject a project and encourage a win-win agreement.
  • Is your reputation and shareholder cconfidence at risk of negative media exposure
  • Who has the primary knowledge on the issue
  • Is there community opposition and subsequent risks of delays and shutdown
  • Are their legal risks associated with negative impact on Indigenous peoples
  • Will you get your outcomes if you don't follow the protocol for that distinct community
